NOTE : The route marked on the maps are as accurate as per the information it's based on. There might have been slight deviations in some parts due to the day of the week or faults in the rail-line on the day.

 

 

The Golden State Limited train traveled along different rail lines after leaving Chicago to reach Los Angeles.

These rail lines were called by different names between certain towns and cities. The rail line between Chicago & Kansas City the line was called Chicago, Rock Is. & Pacific Line.

Between Kansas City and Tucumcari, NM. it was called Rock Island Line and onto to El Paso,TX. it was the Southern Pacific  Line.

The final leg of the journey between El Paso and Los Angeles,CA. it was also the Southern Pacific Line.

TOTAL RAIL DISTANCE BETWEEN EL PASO, TX. TO TUCSON VIA DOUGLAS, AZ. IS 340 MILES / 547 KMS.

 

Departed El Paso at 9:10 am and arrived in Douglas, AZ., at 1:50 pm. Later arrived in Tucson at 5:20 pm.

The train arrived in El Paso, Texas, the next day at 8:45 in the morning and Baba got down at the station. He had a 20-minute walk before proceeding to Tucson, Arizona, which was reached at 5:20 that evening.

The train arrived in Phoenix at 8:40 pm. It stayed a short while before heading to Yuma on the border with California.

After arriving at Yuma, Arizona at 1:05 am the train departed for Los Angeles after a very short stay.
