Robert presented the painting as a gift to Meher Baba when he visited him at the Hotel Delmonico, New York in 1956.

Several days later, Meher Baba summoned Robert to the hotel and when he came, Baba gave back the painting to Robert stating :

" I have blessed it and have bowed down to it, now take it with you and place it in your home in a prominent place."

 

This painting had been handed down through the family.

 

Robert met Meher Baba at Myrtle Beach 1952 & 1956.

Rusty met Baba in May, 1952 as a pup in Myrtle Beach and also in 1956 at the Delmonico Hotel. He was a long haired Chiwawa dog.
